Buying the Nexus One unlocked is probably the best choice

Prior to the official announcement of the Google Nexus One there was a huge amount of hype surrounding the device and as I stated, there looked to be nothing special with this “Google phone” compared to any other Android device and pricing was no surprise and just what was expected. The actual device is fantastic and is currently the best Android device available as I talked about in my initial impressions and with such a powerful device I couldn’t resist and bought my own unlocked one to use with T-Mobile.

CES 2010: Hands-on with the ELSE ACCESS Linux Platform-based smartphone

It was way back in early 2006 when we read that ACCESS and PalmSource announced the ACCESS Linux Platform (ALP) that was initially intended to be the next Palm operating system. While Palm no longer has any ties to ACCESS, we heard in October that Emblaze Mobile Ltd. introduced the first ELSE mobile device running the ELSE INTUITION platform based on ALP.

HTC Hero Update for 3 UK Customers

There’s an update for owners of the HTC Hero from 3 UK now online. As usual we’re not totally sure what this fixes or improves, but if you’ve got your Hero from 3, download it here and let us know what happens! To install ROM version 2.73.771.73 (3UK) don’t forget to backup your apps first (preferably with that rather excellent Astro File Manager) so you can stick them back on after. CES 2010: Palm Updates the Pre and the Pixi

Palm’s announcement at this year’s CES weren’t quite as splashy as last year, when the company announced the Palm Pre , but the smartphone maker is making news nonetheless. Palm today announced that updated versions of its two webOS phones, the Palm Pre and the Palm Pixi, will be coming to Verizon Wireless later this month. Sprint is currently the exclusive carrier of both the Pre and the Pixi.

CES 2010: Hey Nokia, HTC isn’t going to let you rest in the low end market

One reason I really enjoy HTC’s Android devices is because of their Sense UI that adds a LOT of functionality to the platform. Today at CES 2010 we heard from HTC that they are taking this experience to the masses in the form of the HTC Smart that runs HTC Sense on Qualcomm Brew Mobile Platform. This should be a wake-up call for Nokia that they cannot rest on their laurels even in the emerging and low end mobile phone market.

Hands-on first impressions of the Google Nexus One

As I wrote yesterday I just couldn’t resist another great smartphone on T-Mobile USA and since I use lots of Google services I jumped on the Nexus One bandwagon and placed my order. It arrived via free FedEx overnight shipping at my hotel here at CES 2010 this morning and then had to go through a couple hours of Mirage loading dock processing

CES 2010: HTC HD2 coming to T-Mobile this Spring

You all know how impressed I have been with the HTC HD2 Windows Mobile device and the only issue I have with it has been support for 3G in the US. We knew that HTC was going to bring it to a major US carrier in 2010 and tonight Steve Ballmer will talk a bit about the HD2 coming to T-Mobile USA in the Spring. As a T-Mobile customer I couldn’t be more excited, but after just buying the Nexus One I will have to think for a few minutes before jumping on the HD2.

CES 2010: Motorola announces BACKFLIP Google Android device

Andrew earlier reported on the Android phones coming to AT&T this year and I just attended a CES 2010 Motorola event announcing a device that is highly likely going to be one of those Android devices. Motorola announced the BACKFLIP with MOTOBLUR without announcing a carrier or pricing plan. It was confirmed to be a GSM carrier so it must be AT&T since T-Mobile already has the CLIQ with MOTOBLUR

There have been rumors of new T-Mobile plans, code named Project Dark, and earlier today T-Mobile took the wraps off of their new Even More and Even More Plus plans. The plans include options for obtaining an account with no contract, paying for your phone with monthly no-interest payments, and having unlimited voice, text, and data service. While they are quite competitive with other carrier unlimited plans, existing T-Mobile customers need to take a hard comparative look at the new plans and their current plans before jumping on these new plans too quickly.

T-Mobile: Missing Sidekick Data Likely Gone for Good

The week-long Sidekick data outage may not have a happy ending for all users: Some data may be permanently lost, T-Mobile and Danger said this weekend. In a statement posted on T-Mobile’s Sidekick forum , the companies say that some users may never be able to recover their contacts and personal photos if that information is stored on Danger’s servers. To prevent this from happening, T-Mobile and Danger say that users should not remove their Sidekick’s battery, reset their devices, or allow them to run out of power.

CIngular 8525 HTC Hermes TyTn Cheap Deals

Hi all!Its been quite a while since I blogged and here is the reason for it – I moved to the U.S for higher education purposes;currently pursuing my M.S in C.S Networking. My thirst for Windows Mobiles grew even more here, but in the Pocket PC front.Im longing to take a new cingular connection – looking for HTC Hermes (Cingular 8525) device. The problem here in the U.S is the deal price – Cingular currently quotes it at $399 while Amazon quotes it at $199 after rebates. The figures seem very interesting but the real FIX is the data plan. You are forced to take a data plan which makes the minimum monthly plan amounting to $80 and that is ridiculous for a mobile enthusiast college student like me :( A cool review from JustAnotherMobileMonday. Unlock your Cingular 8525 / HTC Hermes / HTC TyTn device for free.
