HTC Desire set to arrive on Virgin Mobile too

Virgin Media has now announced that it will be carrying the HTC Desire too. The network already carries the Windows-powered HTC HD2 and has also just ranged the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy with the Xperia X10 also set to arrive soon. At the moment it looks like all the major networks will be getting the HTC Desire, with the “separated at birth” Nexus One being carried only by Vodafone here in the UK

HTC Android 2.1 Update coming April?

The much-anticipated HTC Hero updated is now apparently set to arrive on April 2nd with network variants getting their fix on April 16th. The details, posted over at xda-developers.com relate to the European roll-out of the Android 2.1 update and all the extra HTC Sense loveliness we saw on the HTC Legend .

So, some other interesting information from MIX10 today. Microsoft have yet again stated that no, no, absolutey no, the HD2 will definitely not get Windows Phone 7 Series. Also, the hardware details are out – there’ll be a consistent set of hardware with one resolution available at launch – 800×480.

You don’t have to wait for Google to update your Nexus One OTA

As readers here know I am quite happy with my Google Nexus One and have been using multi-touch with the Dolphin browser. On my train commute home I read all over Twitter that Google started rolling out an update for Nexus One owners that was also reported here on ZDNet by Sam and Jason. It took forever for me to get the last update sent over-the-air to my T-Mobile G1 so I immediately started looking for ways to get the update done manually

Sony Ericsson have just announced the “Aspen” which looks to be the “Faith” we saw earlier. It’s the first phone to use the new finger-friendly Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and packs a QWERTY, 3.2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), stereo speakers, FM radio with RDS, 3.5mm audio port, aGPS, WiFi and a 2.4″ (240×320 QVGA) screen. The phone is part of the Sony Ericsson “GreenHeart” portfolio to reduce the overall impact on the environment.

UPDATE: What was up with the T-Mobile data outage for Google Nexus One owners?

I had my T-Mobile SIM in my Nokia N900 and then iPhone 3GS this morning when I saw the Twitterverse actively posting on a possible T-Mobile data outage for Google Nexus One owners. I popped my SIM in my Nexus One and sure enough, data seems to be down for me too. There are quite a few comments about this on the T-Mobile forums and T-Mobile has not yet posted anything to inform us about what is going on.
