To be honest, I have never been a fan of “netbooks”; I’d rather root in for a decent smartphone. Unfortunately, the market is limited for a “low end high specifications” smart phone although I have been eying Samsung’s Galaxy 3 for a possible upgrade soon.
craigslist is committed to being socially responsible, and when it comes to adult services ads, that includes aggressively combating violent crime and human rights violations, including human trafficking and the exploitation of minors. We are working intensively as I write this with experts and thought leaders at leading non-profits and among law enforcement on further substantive measures we can take

Another example reading for you, this one for Jennifer Louden, whom I just introduced . I’m reading for as many of the Festival of Change speakers before the event as would like to be read for – obviously, not everyone has something share-able going on that calls for a reading. But Jen does… she’s moved by a strong sense that change wants to happen, that her work wants to move or evolve and something different wants to emerge, but she’s not clear or confident about its shape

An interesting Facebook page recently came to our attention, dedicated to the proposition that one can literally “stop human trafficking” by using eBay’s “family friendly” classifieds instead of craigslist . eBay touts the advanced filtering technologies eBay employs to “make sure all of our categories and content are family-friendly,” technologies it no doubt applies to the “broader eBay Classifieds family including Gumtree, Marktplaats, Mobile.de and Loquo, which extends the reach of eBay Classifieds to more than 20 countries.” As a practical example of eBay’s “advanced filtering” and “family friendly” classifieds, we’ve been shown some ads currently live on eBay’s Loquo.com classifieds site, which features thousands of paid ads offering various sexual acts in exchange for money (NSFW).

Jennifer Louden ’s an opening speaker – and a speaker about ‘opening’ – for the Festival of Change . I asked her to participate after I discovered her ‘ listening to the question ’ audio. As you might imagine, the title caught my attention – I spend a whole lot of time listening to questions, other people’s as well as my own.

So I’ve been writing about my planning and thought processes as I get ready to teach Algebra for the first time in a long time. With students starting on Monday, I thought it was time to move that over to Transparent Algebra . I hope to find time to regularly reflect there, but we’ll see.

Malika Saada Saar, We saw your performance on CNN, and have read your recent letter. You claim to be “appalled that [craigslist is] requesting the police reports from young victims as proof of their trauma.” As you must know, because it was quite clear in my letter to you, we asked for the police reports for the **perpetrators** of these crimes, not for personal information about the victims.

Facts about our network neutrality policy proposal
Posted by Richard Whitt, Washington Telecom and Media Counsel Over the past few days there’s been a lot of discussion surrounding our announcement of a policy proposal on network neutrality we put together with Verizon. On balance, we believe this proposal represents real progress on what has become a very contentious issue, and we think it could help move the network neutrality debate forward constructively. We don’t expect everyone to agree with every aspect of our proposal, but there has been a number of inaccuracies about it, and we do want to separate fact from fiction.
I’ve been talking with each speaker for the Festival of Change , bouncing ideas around, discussing what we’ll cover in their call, and getting to the point where – never mind the whole running-an-event, selling-tickets thing – I’m really looking forward to this just for what I can learn from these people. Anyway… I’ve tried to give the Festival the shape of a reading, or of any experience of connection (as the event isn’t just for people familiar with an oracle), such as perceiving synchronicity or interpreting a dream. The idea is that as we travel through this structure, it opens up a space where each participant can have that experience of connection, rather than just listening to a bunch of theory about it.
This is a follow up post to the earlier write up . Whilst it’s difficult to update it on a regular basis, you can follow up on the news. Interestingly, there has been an editorial about the same in Business Standard and this has been followed up with my letter to editor today

They describe our policy proposal in detail and explain how our conversations were “guided by two principles: our commitment to an open Internet, and the need for continued investment in broadband infrastructure.”
I have had issues with BSNL for a long time including huge latency times and in general a very poor customer response. Yet, when I had shift back to BSNL because of change of residence (after nearly 4 years), there has been a refreshing change in it’s work culture and attitude
