Goa panchayat gives clean chit to Haryana CM

A local panchayat has cleared the name of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in a controversy relating to a structure at a village 25 km from Panaji. Assagao Sarpanch Prakash Naik said they verified all documents after some locals had claimed that the structure was illegal and found out that it is owned by Satori Infrastructure. He said there were no illegalities and some local people had unnecessarily raised a controversy during a gram sabha meeting

Sony Ericsson Posts Shrinking Loss for Q4 2009

Sony Ericsson has released its financial results for the last quarter of 2009 with a narrower loss, continuing the positive trend shown in the prior quarter . However, this also marked its sixth consecutive quarterly loss and brought a whopping €836 million deficit for the whole year. The Swedish-Japanese joint venture reported a forth-quarter loss of €167 million (US$235 million), showing a slight improvement on the €187 million loss a year earlier

250,000 White House Staffers, Visitors Affected by National Archives Data Breach

A data breach at the National Archives and Records Administration is more serious than previously believed. It involved sensitive personal information of 250,000 Clinton administration staff members, job applicants and White House visitors, as well as the Social Security number of at least one daughter of former Vice President Al Gore. The data, which included more than 100,000 Social Security numbers, was stored on a computer hard drive that the NARA discovered missing last April from a data processing room in Maryland.

So Kenneth Chou, a 30-year-old student at SUNY Upstate Medical University in New York, decided to copy Kaplan lecture DVDs from his school’s library and resell them online to help pay for his tuition.
