Double the RAM of the iPad for the iPhone 4

Just when you thought there was nothing else to know about the Apple iPhone 4 , along comes some more information! We’re talking about confirmation of the memory capacity of the new phone, something which Steve Jobs glossed over during his keynote speech at WWDC earlier this month. It’s not the first time either, as he completely forgot the same thing about the iPad and the 3GS too, however while customers don’t really need to know, developers do and that’s where the information has been found. The iPhone 4 will have a grand total of 512MB of RAM, which is double the amount powering the 3GS and the iPad. Why is this the case? Well, one can hazard a guess that iOS 4’s multi-tasking feature will need a fair bit to keep going, but since this is also coming to the iPad – which has 256MB – we would guess that the HD video and iMovie video editing will be eagerly tucking into the extra amount.

First ELSE Could Turn Out to have Nothing ELSE

Oh dear. Emblaze, lover of capitalised names, may not be releasing their interesting First ELSE mobile phone after all. We first covered the ELSE late last year and loved their flashy website and equally flashy new operating system, then took another look in February this year when they made an appearance at Mobile World Congress. It was here they re-iterated their intention of bringing out the phone during Q2 and that talks were under way with networks, but since then, nothing. With Q3 2010 a couple of weeks away, Engadget has published some worrying news. A contact in the industry has said their conversations with operators didn’t bear fruit and that the OS is still not complete, making any kind of release unlikely at present. Also, a call made to their offices saw them transferred to a lawyer’s voicemail at the mention of First ELSE – not something that could be considered a good sign.

R.I.P Typewriters – Paying Tributes to End of an Era !

The death sentence is out officially ! India has officially discontinued use of type writers in all its day to day operations!!! Type writer is no more!! Let’s pay our last tributes to this incredible machine. For the generation who grew up on Imax Multiplexes, Mc Donald’s Burgers, Levis Jeans and the more recent advent of iPads (which has endangered the existence of desktops and laptops), the end of a Golden era of Type writer may look insignificant. But like every industrial item of its day, Typewriter has had its days of glory

BP Oil Spill Symbolizes Dissatisfaction with Government

Watching the Congress grill Tony Hayward kept me from peak productivity today as my frustration with the government boiled over. After listening to the back-and-forth it became more apparent than ever why the approval rating for Congress is so abysmal as it quickly became clear that the banter had more to do with having sound bites for reelection commercials than for any other reason
