Breaking: Goldman Sachs Bonuses all Stock?

I just heard from a reliable source that Goldman Sachs bonuses have been switched from cash to stock. Recently the company announced this would be the case for those at the top of the organization but now my source tells me this will be the case for the whole company. With the massive government and public backlash against banks and the amount of their compensation, this seems like a very very smart move for Goldman.

Why is my MacBook Pro suddenly running hot?

This is weird, but all of a suddenly my MacBook Pro is running really hot and the fan keeps turning on. Not a big deal, but I’m used to it being quiet and smooth without ever even being aware of its temperature. Is there a power supply problem, as my Dad suggests, or is it something else going on

Don’t update via email!

Not to be confused with our alert last Thursday , spammers seem ready to pounce on the press attention towards the recent out-of-band release of MS10-002 to scare users into downloading fake updates via email. We have been seeing messages pushing a Microsoft update via a link. The messages spoof the From: address which shows as Microsoft Office, and in an effort to further legitimize these messages and broaden their attack targets, the messages also contain Italian and French translations.

Teaching Foreign Languages Fade……. Except Chinese!

For the last 10 years in the USA there has been a marked decline in the number of public schools opting to teach a foreign language. However, contrary to this trend, there has been a rush in recent years by schools to offer Chinese – and the Chinese government has been helping out too, paying up to 50% of Chinese teachers salaries. In this economic environment, it seems schools are finding this prospect too good to refuse! In one school in Ohio, the Chinese language program was introduced in 2007 with 20 students – and now has over 80

Rates on International Calls to Mobile Phones

In many cases, the rates charged on international calls to mobile phones are substantially higher than the rate charged for the same call to a land-line. Therefore, when making international calls, callers should take care and read the fine print so they fully understand the rate charged for making a call to the type of phone they plan to call or they may receive an unpleasant surprise.
